A Morning Prayer
Today, Lord, I humbly ask for You to give me the humility to submit myself fully to You and obey Your holy Word. I trust Your divine plan for the world and for my life. Lord, take control of my heart, head, hands, thoughts, words, deeds, plans, and every breath that passes through me. Let this day be spent in praiseful awe, gratitude, fear of You, and love for You. Thank you for blessing me with another day to spend praising Your name. Give me the wisdom, the energy, and the ability to be a blessing to each person I encounter today. Let my words reflect Your purpose. I thank You for hearing my prayer in Jesus holy name. Amen.
The God I Know
a poem by Victoria Stewart
Wherever I go
You are there.
Whatever I need
You provide.
Each day You
guide me
comfort me
teach me
discipline me
You give me opportunities
to serve.
to disciple.
to learn.
to listen.
to comfort.
to love.
You never forget.
You never lie.
Your justice is perfect.
Your mercy is endless.
You personify grace.
You are good.
You are holy.
You have no beginning
and You have no end.
Nothing is
beyond Your knowledge.
outside Your control.
Nothing is impossible for You
not even saving a sinner like me.
You never fail.
A Prayer When I am Afraid
Lord, I am afraid. I am faced with circumstances that are uncertain, painful, scary. I need You! Help me to remember who You are. I know that You are faithful. “But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one” (2 Thessalonians 3:3). I know that You are all powerful. “I know that you can do all things and that no plan of yours can be thwarted” (Job 42:2) I know You cannot lie or fail. “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19) Thank You for being with me. Please send comfort me through your Holy Spirit. Calm my spirit. Let me feel Your presence. Thank you for hearing my prayer in Jesus’ holy name. Amen.
“Unknowable” Truth
a poem by Victoria Stewart
There are things, the world says,
that cannot be known.
And yet some claim to know them.
So who is right?
Is something new because I just discovered it?
Or was it there all the time
beyond of my understanding?
Is fiction real because someone imagined it?
Who decides?
I believe that
“truth” is God’s opinion on any matter.
If God is God, it cannot be otherwise,
can it?
“But how can you know God’s opinion?” They ask.
If only He had inspired someone to write it down.
Unbelief is such a burden.
